Frederick "Fred" Henry is a retired U.S. Army Brigadier General, nonprofit founder, and strategic advisor with over 45 years of combined military and industry executive leadership experience. As the Founder & Executive Chair of The BrightPath Foundation, he is dedicated to reducing prostate cancer disparities and advancing purposeful wellness through movement, education, resilience, and community engagement. Drawing upon decades of leadership in complex organizations, Fred is committed to helping individuals and communities improve their health, strengthen their resilience, and achieve a higher quality of life.

Under his leadership, The BrightPath Foundation is building a wellness ecosystem focused on empowering individuals and communities through evidence-informed wellness programs, strategic partnerships, and awareness initiatives that promote healthier lifestyles and long-term resilience.

In addition to his nonprofit leadership, Fred serves as the CEO of Switch Strategic Consulting, a mission-focused consulting firm dedicated to helping nonprofit organizations strengthen governance, strategic planning, organizational effectiveness, operational excellence, and long-term sustainability. Through his work with nonprofit leaders, boards, and community organizations, he helps mission-driven organizations increase their impact and better serve the communities they support.

Fred is a strong advocate for wellness resilience, drawing from both his professional leadership experience and personal journey as a prostate cancer survivor. His work emphasizes the importance of proactive wellness, physical activity, nutritional health, education, and resilience—particularly within underserved communities, veterans, first responders, and men affected by prostate cancer.

Fred is a graduate of Fitchburg State University and the U.S. Army War College and holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA). In recognition of his distinguished leadership and service, he received an Honorary Doctoral Degree from Fitchburg State University. He completed executive education studies through Columbia University’s Executive Education CEO Program and plans to pursue executive education studies in Nonprofit Leadership through Harvard University. Fred is also a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., reflecting his lifelong commitment to leadership, scholarship, service, and community engagement.
