After careful consideration, I chose to undergo the RALP (robotic-assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy) procedure in February of that year. Looking back, I realized that my long standing commitment to physical wellness particularly as an avid Pickleball player and Tai Chi practitioner had unknowingly prepared me for the challenge ahead. During my recovery, I was reminded of the importance of making time for what I now call “bright spots” in life those moments that bring movement, balance, and clarity into your day. Whether it was stepping onto a pickleball court, practicing Tai Chi, or simply staying active, those moments reinforced the importance of maintaining both physical and mental wellbeing. My recovery was also shaped by the discipline and resilience I developed over more than 30 years of military service, retiring as a Brigadier General, and through my leadership roles in industry. These experiences ultimately inspired the creation of TheBrightPath Foundation, built on a simple belief: finding time for the bright spots in life can help individuals pursue their own TheBrightPath to wellness and lifestyle transformation.
